Migrant children face double difficulties over education at the U.S.-Mexico Border.

Among the policies and protocols impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic is U.S. immigration management at its southern border with Mexico.

Since the spring, the asylum process has been essentially shut down and court hearings for pending claims indefinitely suspended with virtually no new asylum claims accepted.

That's left thousands of migrants waiting in limbo on the Mexican side of the border.

As they wait for rulings on asylum claims, many kids fall behind in their education.
