SOUTH MEXICO

mexico’s beating indigenous heart

Of Mexico’s 68+ indigenous ethnicities, a greta proportion are spread across its three southernmost states: Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas. They are certainly the Native Mexicans who work the hardest to preserve their culture, and who have had an enormous impact on the country’s cultural fabric.

This region of Mexico is the closest the country has to offer visitors of how life may have been in the past, and with spectacular scenery, incredible food and (mostly) friendly people, it’s an excellent place to visit.
