Mexico's president-elect brings hope to economy

Following Mexico's election, and against all expectations, Mexico's currency saw its strongest week in six years.

Mexican president-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador plans to slash his salary as a part of an austerity push. While Lopez Obrador doesn’t officially take office until December, he’s already having an impact on the country’s economy.
